Peter knocked on the doorframe and bowed to Zoe.

"Good morning, my Lady. Could we beg a momenet of your time?"

Sakurazaki also offers a deep bow of respect, quietly awaiting permission to enter. Mostly because she's trying to keep from showing her excitement, which is taking a lot of her energy and concentration.

Polite students really were one of the best ways to start the day.

"Certainly," she said. "Come in and have a seat. How can I help you?"

Peter entered the room with a nod of thanks and grinned at the football match on the screen.

"We had a request of sorts for you. Both Sakurazaki and I use the sword as our main weapon. And while we practice with the blades in the gym most days, a practice sword isn't anything like using a real weapon. We were hoping - wondering - if it might be possible for a place to be set aside for the use of live blades." He paused and rather hoped Zoe understood they weren't going to be using the swords on each other, just drilling with them. "Perhaps down by the gun range since the weapons locker is already there and it's my understanding that it is already monitored closely?"

Sakurazaki grins slightly; Peter had put it perfectly She wondered if she had anything to add, and she does, but she's a little nervous approaching it, afraid that she might tarnish an otherwise perfect proposal.

"There is also the added issue," she starts in tentatively, "of the fact that I do not actually have my sword here on the grounds that my warders know I would not have been getting much use of it. However, if there were a situation where live steel training could exist, then their reservations would be unnecisarry and I can finally return to my training as it should be." She hopes that last part didn't sound bad.

Zoe sat back in her chair, thinking. "There is space by the gun range where you could practice safely without worrying about disturbing them, and you could access the weapons locker. The gun range is only open during specific times, so the swords area would have to follow the same time, in order for us to make sure you're monitored correctly." She looked at them both. "And I assume everyone will be doing training of some sort, and not using swords for fighting amongst yourselves?"

Peter nodded as he tried to keep a grin under control. "Most definitely, Lady. Neither of us wish for anyone to be injured using swords. We are just happy to have the opportunity to use our weapons in training." He looked at Zoe seriously. "If you'd like, we could set it up a bit like the gun range where students who wish to use a live blade need to be checked out first to be sure they know how to handle it. Beginners ought not be using them anyway. Sakurazaki and I could do that if you wished."

"Absolutely," Sakurazaki agrees with a nod. "Prior training would be essential; anyone without knowledge of how a blade should be used in this respect really has no business wanting to train in this fashion, anyway. Safety will be our highest priority."

"Well, if you're both willing to take on this responsibility, then I suppose I can allow it." Zoe smiled. "Just remember that safety is the key, at all times."

"Absolutely, madam, I couldn't agree more," Peter said with a smile. "May we go down to check out the space later today or should we wait until tomorrow?" Peter may have been the slightest bit excited.

Biting her lip right now to keep the excitement back just doesn't work, and she ends up releasing a thrilled expression of gratitude right then, bowing her head. "Thank you so much, Washburn-dono!" And then eagerly awaits the verdict on when she and Peter can get started on setting things up.

"You can go down today if you'd like, but it would probably be best to wait until tomorrow ~~because LJ sucks and just sent this now~~. You'll probably have more time to check the space out then."

Peter nodded, grinning hugely. "Thank you so very much, my Lady. We very, very much appreciate it." He glanced at Sakurazaki ~~whose player was afk~~ and agreed. "We'll check it out tomorrow. Is there anything else in particular that we ought do?"

"Make sure that there's enough room for students to move around without the threat of anyone getting hurt, and try to figure out how many students can be there at once. That should be enough for now," Zoe replied.

"Most definitely," Peter said. "We'll take care of it." He bowed to Zoe. "And thank you again."

Returning from the Pizza Planet, Cameron had bought a tub of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream for the principal. It wasn't so much sucking up as showing appreciation, really. Sort of. He knocked on the doorframe.

Zoe looked up and smiled when she saw Cameron. "Well, hello there. What brings you here on this lovely afternoon?"

"No detention or pranking, ma'am" Cameron said quickly. "Just dessert."

Zoe perked up as though "dessert" was a magic word. "Oh? What's the occasion?"

Cameron didn't realise he needed an occasion. So he made one up. "Happy principal day, ma'am," he said as he put the brown bag with tub and spoon on a clear part of the desk.

"Oh, ice cream!" Zoe laughed, smiling up at him. "Happy principal day indeed. Thank you."

"It also might be an apology for landing my ass in detention, ma'am," Cameron added.

"You don't need to apologize for that, honestly," Zoe replied. "You're a teenage boy, and teenage boys do stupid things and get into trouble, it's all very normal as far as I know."

Cameron considered this for a moment. "I don't suppose I can quote you on this in the future, ma'am?"

"Perhaps you should use the full quotation: 'Teenage boys do stupid things and get into trouble; it's all very normal, as is the detention and punishment they receive for their actions.'"

Cameron laughed. "You're probably right, ma'am. It wouldn't do to leave that part out, it'd be too easy to abuse."

"That was a valiant attempt at trickery though. I almost feel sorry for your teachers if you try to catch them the same way." Zoe snickered.

"I know you wouldn't fall for it, ma'am. But I'll try to give the teachers a break," Cameron said with a grin. "I should let you enjoy your ice cream in peace."

Zoe just barely resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the sucking up. "I'm sure I'll enjoy the ice cream very much. Thank you."

Cameron nodded and for some reason ended up saluting Zoe. "Happy principal day, ma'am," he said before slipping out of the office.
