Office Hours - October 1

With all the parents and guardians and friends and surprise guests around, Zoe figured she'd better be in her office, to field any concerns and answer any questions (hopefully not about certain teachers). She wasn't sure what kind of questions people might have, but that was half the fun of this weekend, really.

If Lex was going to continue to attend this fascinating school, or else be summarily pulled out, then it was only proper that Lionel get a feel for the principal. Especially since, unlike Excelsior, he didn't have half the school board in his pocket.

Which is why he was knocking on Zoe's door.

"Hello, Principal Washburn," said the young woman coming into the office. "I'm Layla Miller."

And yes. Because it had to be said.

"I know stuff."

Lionel entered in, less imposingly than he might have, but some people just naturally swept into rooms, and Lionel was one of them.

He grinned as he caught sight of Zoe. If nothing else, this was a far more pleasant first impression than he'd had of any of Lex's other principals. "Principal Winchester?"

"Actually I'm here to check in on you," she replied with a little grin. "I'm a... friend of Jamie's."

Jaime was exploring the school where his brother supposedly was spending most of this time these days. It left him... well, a little bit bored, to be honest. He paused outside of Zoe's door, tilting his head as he read the sign and the title connected to something Tyrion had told him yesterday.

"You must be the wench in charge of this place," he concluded. As Tyrion had pointed out the lack of kings and nobility, wench seemed the appropriate title. Or Jaime just liked calling women wenches.

"Lionel Luthor." Still smiling, he introduced himself, offering a hand. "My son Lex recently started here."

Forging his signature and running halfway across the country (and forward in time) to do so, but depending on how this conversation went, Lionel was willing to forgive him the defiance. Not necessarily keep him enrolled, but forgive him.

"Jaime Lannister," he introduced himself, a cocky Lannister smile in place. "My brother apparently works for you then."

A Lannister working for a wench. Now there was something that hopefully would never get back to Lord Tywin.

"Actually, I'm his future wife," Layla replied with small smirk. "Just don't judge me for that. I have no choice in the matter."

"You don't want to go there," Layla said making a face. "Trust me. It happened to the original Jamie Madrox and his one-time girlfriend. It does not go well."

"Is he now?" Jaime looked interested and he stepped a little further into the office. His eyes swept across the room out of habit, seeking out dangers that might be lurking there rather than seeing what was in the office itself.

"His students enjoy his philosophy classes?" he asked. There were different reasons to be popular now and Jaime wanted to make certain it was the right now.

A rap of knuckles against the door, and Peter was double-checking the area before focusing on the Principal. "Principal Winchester? Special Agent Peter Burke, FBI."

"He could be scaring them into not complaining," Jaime pointed out. "Or bribe them at the least."

Jaime had no problem intimidating anyone, but his brother tended to lean towards the bribing. Still, it was a good thing to hear that his brother seemed to be fitting in and Jaime's expression softened.

Something that did not come as easily in Westeros. Not for a dwarf. "It is not a place I would have imagined my brother finding a place in," Jaime admitted.
