Fandom Radio, Saturday, May 30
May. 30th, 2026 10:43 amGood morning, everyone! It is I, Miss Lydia Bennet, here to bring you all of yesterday's news the squirrels saw fit to report. So I shouldn't expect too much, if I were you.
Let's see...at the school, Let's Play Tourists visited Paris, Arts & Crafts & Dungeons & Dragons talked about the figurines they painted last week, and Paintball allowed the combatants the use of their supernatural powers. Congratulations to Dean Skywalker, who was the week's victor!
And speaking of Dean Skywalker, in the town, he joined Miss Skywalker in cleaning up at her warehouse. The lack of cleaning staff remains the most disappointing thing about this century. Ah, well. Until next week, dear listeners!

Let's Play Tourists!, first period
May. 29th, 2026 04:02 pmJon met everybody at Portalocity looking more than a little sheepish.
"First of all, I would like to apologize for last week." He grimaced and rubbed the back of his neck. "I...well, um. Never mind. Anyway, I apologize. This week we're starting in Paris." He handed them each a ticket for a tour. "It'll be a few hours, but...well, we've got portals, so. And you can choose to spend a little longer if you like."
He led them through the portal and over to where their "fun" guide was supposed to meet them. Jon was rather dreading whatever a "fun" guide was, but hopefully it wouldn't be too dreadful.

Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon
May. 29th, 2026 09:14 amIt was cleanup day at the warehouse. Cleaning up after the unsurprisingly chaotic woodchucks, clearing off the course because the weather controls could do some damage over time, things like that. There was actually something relaxing and mindless about it that was needed sometimes.
Though she was giving death glares at the woodchucks anytime she heard a noise. One day. Give her one clean day, guys.

Arts & Crafts & Dungeons & Dragons [Fri, Period 2]
May. 29th, 2026 07:39 amThe classroom smelled like paint. A lot of paint. Which was probably a hazard, but the teachers didn't seem bothered by it somehow. The how might have been magic powers, but whatever.
"Welcome back, we're glad to see you all again," Jane said.
"Yes. We are." Cara could possibly sound more convincing. "So it's time to have our first check in on how your work is going."
"We want you to introduce the little mini that you painted!" Oh yeah. That'd be something. enjoy coming up with backstory on the fly.
See Cara's face? That was the face of a person who loved hearing your RPG character's backstory. For realz. "Apparently it's an important part of the creative process."
It was going to be great.

Paintball! - Friday
May. 29th, 2026 05:54 am"Sorry that we missed last week," Steve apologized. "We had an emergency to take care of at home."
"To make up for it, we'll be allowing powers to be used in the game today." Tony. Tony, no.
"We will be?" Steve repeated, blinking.
It was definitely an idea, wasn't it? "Just for today," Tony said quickly.
"Please remember that this is only a game and maiming your fellow players or breaking the island is completely unacceptable," Steve said to the class.
"I thought that was a given," Tony said like the class wasn't full of super competitive people.
Steve's sweeping hand to encompass the class paused slightly in front of Anakin. "Just in case."

May. 28th, 2026 09:16 pmGood morning, everyone, it's Steve Rogers with the news of yesterday.
In classes, Constantine led his class through the part denial plays in the grieving process, Liliana discussed the Elder Dragon War
In town, Steven stopped learning about frogs long enough to have lunch with Watts, and Octavia came in for Duke's diner shift for lunch and rehashing Constantine's class. Jesse went over to Bucky's place, and the conversation didn't go the way most that begin with "we should talk" generally do, so...good job there, Buck. Finally, Steph was definitely not playing Angry Birds.
That feels suspiciously specific, but I'm not going to ask. Have a great weekend!

Testing needed in advance of code push!
May. 28th, 2026 04:10 pmIt's been a while since we've done a full code push rather than just hotfixes for bugs, so we are well overdue! Depending on availability, we're aiming to do one sometime soon; we'll let you know specifics once we've worked out good timing for everyone who needs to be available.
However! The reason it's been so long is we kept trying to get some of the stuff that's pending to "really finished" instead of just "mostly finished", and then we once again looked around and went "oh no, this is a really big code push with a lot of changes". Those make us nervous, because while we do a lot of testing ourselves, y'all are really creative in how you use the site and we inevitably find a bunch of edge cases when we let you loose on new code with your real-world data!
So, if folks have some spare time in the next few days, it would be a huge help if you could spend half an hour or so using the site the same way you normally do but with the "Site-Wide Canary" beta features flag turned on. Canary mode is a sort of "live testing" mode: it's your real data, but running the most up-to-date code.
Canary mode always does have a few glitches -- there may be missing text strings or errors about missing database properties, which is a limitation of how we run it. We don't need to know about those, but anything else weird that you run into, leave a comment with what you were trying to do and the error message you got.
I'll repeat that the "here be dragons" caution that's on the beta features page: some things may be broken, so don't use it for when you're doing something important. But a few more eyeballs on it before the push will help the push go more smoothly for everyone.
For folks who want to concentrate on what's changing, we haven't finished the second code tour of what's going to be in this push, but the ffirst one has a good chunk of what's going to be going live. (We'll get the second half done ASAP!)

Luke's, Thursday
May. 28th, 2026 12:01 pmDuke came into the diner without fanfare, despite not having been there in months. His staff, after a moment of gasping and cheering, followed his lead, letting him fuss around the kitchen like this was a perfectly ordinary Thursday.
Duke had never felt more loved, outside his relationship with Octavia and Lucifer.
Today's Specials

Luke's was open.

The Magpie Emporium, Thursday (5/28)
May. 28th, 2026 08:19 amSteph was leaning against the counter scowling at her phone, which was by no means a new or unusual occurrence, but the lack of furious thumb-typing was.
Not that she was about to admit to having reinstalled Angry Birds or anything. Shh.

WTFH - Fandom Radio [Thurs, May 28th]
May. 28th, 2026 08:49 pmIt's another Thursday, so let's discover more reasons to stay inside on a Wednesday.
In terms of School news, Anakin was Shenaniganing again in the park, where all the voluntolds gathered for terrible shirts, obnoxious flirting, and musical chairs with balloons full of 'stuff'. Some people avoided getting covered in stuff, but let's be real, there were no winners here.
Otherwise, nothing happened in the Dorms, while in Town, the Devil's Nest was 'citrusy fresh'.

Song of Dominia, Thursday, Period 3
May. 28th, 2026 04:08 am"So, the Elder Dragon War," Liliana said, picking up from last week's lecture as if it had been seven minutes since she last discussed it, not seven days. "In the millennia or so after Nicol Bolas - then, only Nicol, he had not granted himself a second name - had taken over the kingdom of the man that had slain his sister, Merrevia Sal, the rest of the Elder dragons had spread out over Dominaria. There were hundreds of them, perhaps more, and by this time, many of them had taken mates and started breeding children of their own. Dragons eat a great deal, do not share easily or well, especially with one another, and are incredibly aware of their own status and standing in their internal hierarchy."
( Not unlike Planeswalkers in that way... )
"Nicol Bolas is the only surviving Elder dragon of Dominaria now. He brags that he killed his brother Ugin in an extended battle on a different plane. In 2824 AR, Arcades Sabboth was summoned by a Planeswalker, Leshrac, to serve as his champion in a duel against another Planeswalker, Kristina of the Wood. Some of you may remember her name as one of the Nine Titans who accompanied Urza to Phyrexia. She was one of the two people killed by Tevash Szat." You know, the pretext Urza needed to kill Szat and power the soul bombs, right before he decided to become friends with Yawgmoth instead. "Tevash Szat also killed Chromium Rhuell, the shapeshifting dragon who stayed out of the Elder Dragon War completely, in 2934 AR, as part of a plot for Szat and Leshrac to escape the Shard of the Twelve Worlds." Which, if you remembered, was also Urza's fault. "Rhuell's death was the spark to the kindling that eventually ignited the Planeswalker War, which is definitely going to have to wait for another day - and possibly several drinks - as that was an absolute nightmare of ridiculousness."
It was possible that Planeswalkers didn't deserve nice things.

MCA -4, Thursday Morning
May. 28th, 2026 07:45 amRight. So the worst of their fight had been cleared up. Jesse-- well, maybe it would've been better to let her and James coast on the current ceasefire for a while. Find their equilibrium again.
Except she kept coming back to concerns about what could happen in the meanwhile. What if the island found a way to tell James about the Bureau? He wouldn't have all the context. And-- well, it was entirely possible he'd break up with her over this anyway. But if he didn't have all--
Eugh.
She had spent days rehearsing the speech in her head. And yet, as she arrived at James's doorstep early that Thursday, she couldn't help but hope he'd gone back to Wakanda early.
Please?
She raised her hand and knocked.
Come on...

Fandom Island Museum, Thursday Daytime
May. 28th, 2026 12:21 amThe museum often got catalogues in the mail of things companies hoped for them to purchase. Sometimes the answer was yes - office supplies were always in need, for example. Others were more curiosity.
Such as the one Steven was flipping through today. It was about habitats for frogs and toads.
Steven had nothing against the idea personally. The museum already had fish and insects. Frogs weren't that far off.
But frogs did have a particular diet they were known for. And while Blathers might be thrilled to no longer have any insects around, that would render one of the wings of the museum completely useless.
Still, it made for an interesting read all the same. Some of the frogs were rather pretty looking, if one liked that sort of thing.
As always, Steven was interruptible for visitors, whether or not they were frogs.

The Devil's Nest, Wednesday Evening
May. 27th, 2026 08:34 pmDuke had come home smelling like gravy, which was now Octavia's cue to try and remember to steer away from the park on Wednesdays, again.
The club, meanwhile, had a vaguely citrus-y scent about it. For some reason. And not like an artificial citrus-y smell, a proper one, like a fruit freshly cut in half.
Octavia was probably going to spend half her shift trying to locate where it was coming from. She had a concern there was some kind of cache of halved fruits somewhere, after all, and those weren't going to stay fresh forever.

Summer Shenanigans, May 27, 2026
May. 26th, 2026 09:46 pmToday Anakin had a helper!
An unwilling helper.
A helper who didn't know she was helping until right now.
"We're playing musical chairs today," Anakin said, gesturing for Rey to put chairs into a circle.
It might be obvious how much Rey didn't know she was helping by the wary look on her face even as she arranged the chairs.
"A little warning might be nice," she muttered, like she didn't know better.
"Where's the fun in that?" Anakin replied with a smile. "But musical chairs by itself is dull, and we've done team-building versions too often. So this time you will be seated in one place and pass a balloon around and around."
"How is it terrible?" Rey asked. "It's always terrible."
She defended you, Anakin. Always remember she defended you.
"When the music stops, the person holding the balloon has to pop it," Anakin said. "The balloon isn't empty."
"I hate the ones where I have to do laundry," Rey sighed, with the face of someone who would not be doing any defending today. "What are they filled with?"
"Surprises!" Anakin said with a bright smile.
Rey sighed. Sorry, everyone! Sorry!
"Listen for your names and come grab your shirts," Anakin said.
Those names:
Ilya Rozanov
Rey Skywalker
Hannibal Lecter
Isabela
Remy LeBeau
Jonathan Sims
Duke Crocker
Vi
James Flint
Lydia Bennet
Henry of Skalitz
Sairis Karkaroth
Erasmus Boone
Beckett Mariner

Caritas- Tuesday
May. 26th, 2026 01:10 pmTino was sitting on the stage with the laptop Kitty still kind of figured he'd stolen. The zombie drummer seemed to be looking over his shoulder at whatever he was writing and would sometimes mean/grunt what could have been approval.
However if Kitty so much as moved behind the bar, Tino gave her a Look and turned the screen away.
"Why can he see and I can't?" she finally asked.
Unsurprisingly, she got no answer.

Infinite Consortium, Tuesday
May. 26th, 2026 11:23 amSairis never had found his missing charms from last week, so he was making more this week. After dusting, of course; the job came first.
But once that dusting and straightening was done, he was sitting behind the counter winding string and bones together.
There was a sign in the window next to the sales: Charms available! Focus, quiet, fertility and infertility, heating and cooling! Others possible by arrangement.
Nobody was getting fireball without a lot of convincing.
The store was open!

Book Club, Tuesday, Period One
May. 26th, 2026 10:58 pmClass was being held in J,Gob again, because they had a budget to spend, damn it. Somehow, both the pastry and book tables were even more full than last week.
"Welcome back," Isabela declared cheerfully. "You've done the good stuff with some reading, now it's time to get to the even better stuff with some gossip."
Aphra sipped the drink that this early she was still going to claim was non-alcoholic. "Share with the class something about a book that you've totally read during the last week and pick each other's brains about it. Hey, maybe some of you have even read the same book!"
That was actually how book clubs...never mind.
