Zoe's Office - March 13

Zoe was in her office, working on her second apple of the day. She figured there could certainly be worse foods that she could be craving, but she was going to have to invest in a fruit tree if this kept up.

The door was open for anyone who needed her.

Dean knocked on the door with Sammy beside him. "Hi. You busy?"

Zoe swallowed quickly and shook her head. "No, come on in," she said, giving the two of them a warm smile. "How are you?"

"We're good," Dean said, shooting her a warm smile. "We just had something we wanted to talk to you about."

"About Dad," Sam continued. "Did you know his birthday is Friday?"

Zoe's eyes got wide for a moment as she looked at the two of them. "What? No, he hasn't said anything to me about that. Are you serious?"

Dean nodded. "Yep. I'm not surprised he hasn't mentioned it. We even had to out and out ask him to get the date when we were little."

"He's not the type for big celebrations," Sam added. "In case his personality didn't make that clear."

Zoe smirked. "I can see how that would be true," she said. "He still should have said something to me though."

"Feel free to give him detention or something for not sharing," Dean suggested.

Zoe's smirk turned a bit more wicked, and she had to stop herself before her mind turned to things that were not appropriate for her to be thinking about in front of John's sons. "I might have to do something like that," she said. "Meanwhile, please tell me you boys have come up with a plan for making your father celebrate whether he wants to or not?"

Dean grinned. "We were thinking dinner and presents. Possibly with a locked door so he can't escape."

"And we wanted to make sure we invited you. He might want to escape less if you're there," Sam said, laughing.

"That sounds like an excellent plan," Zoe replied. "And I'd be more than happy to join you."

"Great," Dean said. He glanced at Sammy. "We were thinking of actual cooking, if we can take over your kitchen?"

"We promise, we're a lot cleaner in the kitchen than Dad has proven to be," Sam added.

Zoe laughed. "I think that'll be all right."

"And Sammy makes a mean apple pie," Dean said, grinning at his brother.

It was almost embarrassing how Zoe perked up at the words apple pie. "Oh really?"

"Yeah," Sam said, snickering. "My cooking skills are somewhat limited to desserts, but I'm good at pies. Is that a vote for apple?"

"A vote and a half," Zoe replied, resting her hands on her stomach.

"That's good enough for me." Sam grinned at Dean. "Okay, I'm done. You get to make everything else."

"Not getting out of helping that easily," Dean told him. "You can be my sous chef."

"I...don't even know what that is."

Dean smirked. "It means you're my assistant."

"Oh. I guess I could do that," Sam replied. "As long as you don't give me anything I can ruin."

"Well it's either that or you get to keep Dad entertained while I cook which will take twice as long alone."

Zoe snickered quietly at the totally modded look on Sam's face.

Sam looked more apprehensive as he glanced between Dean and Zoe, and nodded. "Okay, okay, I'll help you."

Dean turned to Zoe. "Guess that leaves Dad entertainment up to you."

"I think I can handle that," Zoe said, grinning.

"Just remember there's two impressionable teens in the next room that don't need to see anything dirty," Dean advised.

"Don't worry, we'll behave ourselves until you two leave," Zoe promised.

"And that's about all we need to know about that, thanks."

Zoe smirked, but didn't say anything else traumatizing. "If you need help getting any food or supplies that you'll need, let me know, and I can go get some things as well."

"Thanks," Dean said. "I'll keep that in mind in case we need principal power."

"Thank you for telling me about your dad's birthday, so I don't have to bug him about it after the fact," Zoe replied.
