Office Hours - October 1

With all the parents and guardians and friends and surprise guests around, Zoe figured she'd better be in her office, to field any concerns and answer any questions (hopefully not about certain teachers). She wasn't sure what kind of questions people might have, but that was half the fun of this weekend, really.

"I want you to know that I'm very impressed with the school here," Bran said, taking a seat across from the woman.

"I'm glad that Mercy has the opportunity to come to a place like this. I was wondering though, if you could tell me what it is that Mister Madrox is supposed to be teaching and what credentials, if any, he has to do so?"

Oh, how Zoe had been dreading this question. "Well, he teaches...life skills. Survival skills, common sense thinking, things like that," she said, trying to make his class sound halfway sane. "His credentials come from his own world, like most people's." Yes, that sounded totally credible, of course.

"That man," Bran said, raising an eyebrow, "Teaches common sense thinking?"

Bran could understand that if the purpose of the class was to not do the ridiculous things the man asked, but that didn't seem to be the case.

"I fail to see, if that's the case, why Mercy has a D or an F in the class. Mr. Madrox didn't seem to know her grade. But it would seem to me that choosing to not lick the doorknobs in the dorms would be the common sense thing to do."
