Zoe sits calmly
working to update files
all through the morning.

Since the work is slow
and really very boring
her door is open.

Marty knocks on the door frame.

"Excuse me? Principal Washburn? Another student and I are considering an art project that involves photographing a shack filled with junk as it blows up. I've already received permission from the mayor, but I was thinking of involving other students and wanted to check in with you first. All I would ask them to do is contribute items they would like to see blown upinated"

Zoe's eyebrows raise as Marty speaks. "Let me get this straight. You want to blow something up for art class? Has your teacher agreed to this?"

"Actually we're not in any Art class," Marty said with a little cough. "Um, this is based on a trip we made to an art museum on our field trip to England. We are trying to replicate a piece of modern art."

"Then what, might I ask, is the purpose of this assignment?" Zoe gives him a look. "I would suggest that your answer be something more impressive than 'The joy of watching junk blow sky high.'"

"Actually it's to try and see what exactly makes it art," Marty said earnestly. "Because quite frankly we didn't quite get the concept and thought we were missing something. The blowing junk sky high? Added benefit."

Zoe looks slightly appeased. "And you're going to make sure this is done safely, and that no students accidentally get blown upinated as well? It would probably keep things peaceful if the town remained in tact as well."

"Absolutely. We'll make sure no one is harmed because I have a feeling either you or the mayor will skin me alive if somethng went wrong."

This is not a sweet smile Marty's getting right now. "Most likely, yes. But I suppose you have found a way to make it educational. And I don't doubt that people will have things they want to see blown up. So, I guess it's all right."

"Thank you Ms. Washburn. I'll send you an invitation when we have everything organized."

Marty then quickly moves to the door before she changes her mind.
